1) NOVENA OF MASSES
Suggestions and 10 Steps: How to Organize a Diocesan NOVENA OF MASSES as SPIRITUAL WARFARE to END ABORTION
Suggestion: conduct a Novena of Masses during each of the two 40 Days for Life Campaigns held each year. This provides helpful publicity about a major worldwide effort to end abortion. The beauty and power of this diocesan-wide Mass Novena is that the Priests/parishes are in SOLIDARITY with THEIR BISHOP, and every Mass is offered for a specific abortion business in the diocese (or in a nearby diocese) to PERMANENTLY CLOSE, and for the conversion of the staff (including the abortionists).
The key to this devotion is to get your diocesan Pro-life Director — & hopefully your Bishop — to support this effort.
- Decide the nine days the Novena will be conducted.
- Ask the Bishop (several weeks before) to write a LETTER OF ENDORSEMENT for 40 Days For Life and include the request that Priests/parishes participate in the Novena of Masses for this intention: “the permanent closing of [specific abortion business name] abortion business and the conversion of its staff”.
- The Pro-Life/Respect Life Diocesan Director sends the Bishop’s Endorsement Letter electronically to all Priests/parishes in the diocese.To read a recent Endorsement Letter of Bishop Baker, CLICK HERE.At least 6 weeks before the Novena of Masses is set to begin, the Pro-Life/Respect Life Diocesan Director or a member of the Diocesan Pro-Life Commission sends an email message** to all Parish Pro-Life Representatives, with the Bishop’s Endorsement Letter attached, requesting that all the Reps contact their parish secretary &/or Pastor to schedule one or more Masses for this Novena. [If the Endorsement Letter is not yet ready, send anyway, and then send the Endorsement attachment in a later email message.]
If your diocese has PARISH PRO-LIFE REPRESENTATIVES, have the Reps contact their pastor and church secretary to sign up their parish to officially offer one Mass on one day (or more) during the Novena of Masses, with the specific intention to pray for the permanent closing of “—“ abortion facility in your diocese, & for the conversion of its abortion staff.
NOTE: If your diocese does not have a diocesan pro-life director, or if you experience a lack of interest/support for the St. Clare Project at the diocesan level, you can reach out to Priests & lay people in your diocese who might be willing to work with you to make the Novena of Masses a reality.
- Start well in advance, and send follow-up ‘e-reminders’ to motivate more Reps to get this scheduled.
- This exact intention should be written in the church Mass book with the intention (“for the permanent closing of —- abortion business & for the conversion of its staff”). If possible, the intention should be announced in the church bulletin and during the Mass.
- Scheduled Masses are reported by email or phone to one Coordinator who records all the Masses in a simple schedule. When the initial email letter is mailed out to the Diocesan Parish Pro-Life Representatives (or interested People of Life) in the diocese, they can simply schedule the Mass at their parish and then reply on the email with the Date, Time, Parish, and Priest.All that is absolutely needed is to have 9 Masses scheduled for this intention (see above), one each day for 9 consecutive days.NOTE: We have found that the larger parishes need this notice months ahead to be able to find Mass times available for the specific Novena dates; so if you hope to set your NOVENA OF MASSES for this fall, try to set the 9-Day Novena Dates early, and begin to circulate this information to all the parishes.
If you should encounter difficulties in scheduling even 9 consecutive Masses for this intention, plan far enough in advance in order to reach out to Priests in other areas, even Missionaries, to offer a Mass on the days needed to complete the Novena. It may be necessary, then, to offer a Mass stipend.
- Regular email updates are sent to the Parish Pro-Life Reps to make sure all nine days are covered with Masses. NOTE: Some churches also want to offer Eucharistic Adoration Holy Hours. This is absolutely wonderful! Please keep in mind that there must be at least 9 consecutive days of Masses during the Novena, however.
- Publicize the schedule of the Novena of Masses as much as possible, and by all means possible! Include an article in your diocesan newspaper.
- Invite and encourage everyone to attend as many of these Masses as possible, and to unite spiritually to all the Masses and Holy Hours every day of the Novena. Also invite everyone to join their daily Masses, rosaries, Holy Hours, and other alms for this specific intention. Even long after the Novena of Masses ends, encourage everyone to unite spiritually every day with those Infinite Masses, which are always PRESENT before Almighty God, for the closing of ALL abortion sites nation and worldwide!!
- Thank God for the Novena of Masses.Then, the infinite prayers begin, rising like incense to our Merciful God for the closing of this one specific abortion facility in the diocese.
- While this happens post-Novena, please be sure to send postal or e- Thank You messages to all the Priests who offered a Mass (Masses) on behalf of their parishioners as part of the Novena of Masses. Our Priests need to be thanked and appreciated for their part in this Infinite Spiritual Warfare!

2) ‘4-CORNERS’ PRIESTLY PRAYER
Find 4 PRIESTS who would be willing to PRAY THE LEONINE DELIVERANCE PRAYERS (St. Leo XIII Exorcism Prayers) around an abortion business (as close to the 4 corners as they legally can, as in Rockford Illinois) as often as possible…
ONCE THEY GET THEIR BISHOP’S PERMISSION, they could go and pray together whenever they can [this should be done very discretely – it should not be a big publicized event, but rather, the Priests should plan & execute this prayer time among themselves… the exorcism prayers, while not a formal exorcism, are still very powerful, and the Priests should be the only ones involved].
NOTE: It might be prudent, if opposing people in the area could cause issues, to have 1-4 lay men nearby to deflect any interruption of the prayers.
If you recall, the Priests in Rockford started this in 2010, and this huge abortion facility shut down in 2012!

NOTE: In geographically large dioceses, and for health reasons, Priests who simply cannot be physically at the abortion sites can pray at their own parishes. Other Priests may want to print out SATELLITE PHOTOS of abortion sites where the ‘4-Corner’ Priestly Prayer will be occurring, and pray at the same time, looking upon those photos.
3) EUCHARISTIC PROCESSION
The Procession can be very short, OR, a Jericho March can be conducted by processing around the abortion site 7 times, in silent prayer. That is the prerogative of the Bishop/Priest.
The Bishop and/or Priest, announces an EUCHARISTIC PROCESSION to a particular abortion business, holds the MONSTRANCE at these gates of hell, and prays that these gates WILL NOT PREVAIL.
And then, see what OUR GOD will DO!!
